There are three main levels in BikeWise cycle training programs, each subsequent level reflecting progression in skill and confidence:
Level 1- Bicycle Control Skills For new and inexperienced cyclists plus those that have not ridden for some time, perhaps since childhood. Level 1 covers all of the essential bicycle control skills required by cyclists before on-road training. Our instructors will assess your abilities off-road and instructively develop skills to the required level ensuring you have the skills and confidence to progress to the road.
Level 2- Beginning on Road Cycling Once good bike control has been achieved, we develop road skills and confidence. Level 2 focuses on establishing a sound basis for safe road cycling. This level aims to enhance the cyclist’s sense of security through assertive positioning on the road and increased awareness of other road users including pedestrians. Training takes place on suburban roads and cycleways in real conditions, teaching participants to apply the skills to their own transport purposes.
Level 3- On Road Advanced Level 3 builds on the skills established in level 2 and is suitable for cyclists who are capable and confident enough to undertake journeys independently. Level 3 prepares cyclists for more complex challenges including; turning right on multi-lane roads, negotiating roundabouts, complex intersections and traffic lights. This level also includes a short introduction to cycle maintenance.
Advanced and Specialised Training Advanced and specialised training is specifically tailored for your goals. We offer this sort of training for road racing, highway riding and mountain biking as well as anything else you wish to accomplish on a bicycle.
