American Express / Easy and Safe Cycling WorkshopAs part of 'Safe Work Week', BikeWise ran a series of Lunchtime safe cycling workshops for over 200 American Express staff. The well received presentations discussed some key skills and tips for safe and effective cycling. The presentation also covered some of the more practical elements of cycling to work; how to carry your stuff, how to arrive sweat-free.
Australia Post / Train the TrainerWith a brand new fleet of electric bikes Australia Post wanted to ensure their Posties had a clear understanding of how to cycle safely. BikeWise ran a whole day workshop with the ‘Australia Post Trainers‘ covering on road skills and essential bike maintenance.
City of Sydney / Bike Fleet ServicesCity of Sydney wanted to procure a brand new fleet of bikes for their staff at Town Hall House. With the sheer amount of bike choice verging on the overwhelming the City needed objectivity to source the most appropriate fleet. BikeWise were able to provide expert advice for an appropriate bike fleet, develop a logging system for each bike as well as undertake regular fleet maintenance to ensure all bikes are always safe and ready to ride.
North Sydney / OH&S City Cycling CourseAfter procuring their new bike fleet, North Sydney Council wanted to ensure that staff were certified before riding one of the new bikes. BikeWise successfully ran an OH&S City Cycling course for relevant staff around the North Sydney area. Following the course, BikeWise certified participants (pass, provisional pass or fail) as to their level of on road competency.
Lois / (67yrs)My husband recently gave me a present of a new Mountain bike – as I hadn’t ridden for many years I was feeling very insecure, apprehensive and extremely wobbly so rather than an experience we should be enjoying together it was causing many a volatile domestic argument.
My daughter had recently completed a “Bikewise” course and suggested I should do the same – enter George – in a 2 hour course, with patience and humour, he built my confidence, taught me to start, stop, change gears and when to apply the brakes and how not to wobble into anybody or thing that got in my way!
Now I am riding around our local streets and parks 3 – 4 days a week and thoroughly enjoying myself and next month we are looking forward to tackling the Otago railtrail in the South Island of New Zealand (150 km over 4 days) – the benefits of my course have been fantastic.
